“One Flew Over the Nest of Mental Damage” - A Monothematic Conference on Mental Damage by AMLA

12-03-2025

The Ambrosiana Medico-Legal Association (AMLA) has decided to organize a conference on mental damage after many years that the topic was not addressed in a purely medico-legal context.

The topic, in addition to being fascinating, is always of great interest both for the diffusion of the phenomenon from an epidemiological point of view and for the difficulty of clinical interpretation. This is, however, essential for the assessment of the damage.

The conference conceived by AMLA will tend to address this aspect of the problem first and foremost to provide information to an audience that will be able to engage with some of the major experts in the field in Italy, both from the clinical area and from the forensic medical-legal and psychiatric fields.

The conference, which will take place over two days in Milan, will address, on the 14th in the morning, the topic of post-traumatic mental disorders from an eminently clinical-diagnostic point of view. In the afternoon of the same day, the medical-legal evaluation aspect of mental illness will be discussed.

In the final phase of the day, a round table will take place in which participants will discuss clinical cases.

The Conference will resume the following day, March 15, addressing some aspects that are rarely discussed in the medical-legal field. In fact, we will talk about mental damage in pediatric and adolescent age, conversion disorders and simulation as well as work-related mental illness.

Among the speakers, Felice Francesco Carabellese and Stefania Lucia Zeroli.
