A massive corporate fraud led to its first significant ruling today.
Under a summary trial, sentences of 6 and 4 years, respectively, were handed down to the two main defendants on trial, Mauro B. and Antonello P.. The ruling by preliminary hearing judge Cristina Marzagalli of the Busto Arsizio court includes, above all, a massive compensation award of over 12 million euros (12,704,721 euros and 83 cents to be paid by the two). The requests for punishment from prosecutor Sabrina Ditaranto and those for compensation from the civil plaintiff's lawyer, Fabrizio Busignani, were therefore accepted.

"I'm going to pick up the kids..." and goodbye
The ploy held up for at least three years before being discovered, when the company finally found itself essentially without liquidity.
A mountain of millions
The two main suspects also made allegations of complicity, indicating the culprits, but this wasn't enough to avoid their sentences, which, under the current legal system, the type of crime, and with the one-third penalty reduction provided for under the summary trial procedure, are considered severe.
